Age Restrictions in Florida
In Florida, anyone born on or after June 1, 1975 who wishes to purchase a hunting license must have proof of successful completion of a hunter education course. Children under the age of 16 are exempt from this requirement, as long as they are under the direct adult supervision.
Furthermore, it is illegal for a child under the age of 18 to possess a loaded firearm unless:
- The child is 16 or older and is participating in a legal hunting activity; or
- The child is under the age of 16 and is hunting legally and under the direct supervision of an adult.
