Puddle Ducks
Puddle ducks are found in shallow lakes, ponds, and rivers where they can easily dabble for food. Their legs are well adapted for walking on land, and you will often see certain species feeding on dry ground. A puddle duck is easily identified when they take off from the water by quickly springing up into the air. Here are some of the common puddle duck species found in Idaho:
