Minnesota Adult Hunter Safety Course

Safety Tips

Never select a dead, leaning, diseased or loose-barked tree to place a stand. Never place a stand on a utility pole.

Always inspect the treestand, all safety devices, and the FAS/FBH before each use.

Never jump or bounce on a treestand to seat it to the tree. Never use a treestand during inclement weather such as rain, lightning, windstorms or icy conditions. End your hunt and return to the ground if inclement conditions arise.

Never leave a treestand installed for more than two weeks.

Never store a treestand or FAS/FBH outdoors when not in use since damage could result from weather, animals and/or from other factors not obvious with a visual inspection.
