Minnesota Hunter Safety Course

Safety Tips

Always read and understand the manufacturer's Warnings & Instructions before using the treestand each season. Maintain both the written and video treestand instructions and warnings and review the instructions at least once a year. If you have any questions after reviewing the Warnings & Instructions, please contact the manufacturer.

Scout the area before the hunting season starts to locate good stand sites. Select a tree that is straight and healthy.

Never exceed the weight limit specified by the manufacturer. This includes the weight of you AND your equipment.

Always know your physical limitations. Don't take chances and avoid excessive heights. If you start thinking about how high you are, don't go any higher. The higher you go, the greater the danger.

Never hurry! Take your time and be safe.
